Stream Restoration Highlights

Lick Creek Restoration

The Durham Soil and Water Conservation District is working with private landowners in Durham County to restore natural function to four unnamed tributaries of Little Lick Creek.

North Pacolet River Restoration

Part of a multi-phase effort to restore and stabilize the North Pacolet River in Polk County, CWMTF worked with partners and private landowners to fund over 4,000 feet of stream restoration. The project boarders a large sod farm and a private residence actively eroding stream banks threatened both property and water quality.

New River Water Quality Projects

Two projects funded in 2017 in the New River Watershed will employ quite different techniques but complement each other’s work to restore water quality in the New River and its tributaries. Click through to read more about these projects from the New River Conservancy and Greater Lansing Area Development.

More project highlights are coming soon - stay tuned!
